Demo area
The multifunctional environment supports interactive training for a uniform understanding of the International Data Spaces architecture and software.
The demo area provides demos for various software components of the IDS ecosystem (IDS Connectoren, Broker, etc.). This allows users to simulate the ecosystem’s operation and learn how to use the software components in a lab environment.
Among other things, the goal of the IDS Lab is to converge all of the software components developed by Fraunhofer within the International Data Spaces framework and to demonstrate an implementation in concrete terms. Thus, the IDS Lab bundles the current research results of the participating Fraunhofer Institutes.
For a strategically directed and demonstrative convergence, the implementation of the IDS software components is based on a use case developed especially for this purpose.
The IDS Lab use case proposes the exchange of various data types including sensor data with different security classifications between various IDS Lab participants subject to compliance with the usage policies in various scenarios. Aside from the IDS Lab at Fraunhofer ISST in Dortmund, the participants are Fraunhofer AISEC in Munich and Fraunhofer IESE in Kaiserslautern. In addition to implementing various IDS connectors with different specification requirements, the components of the overall IDS infrastructure such as the Broker, the Clearing House and the App Store are implemented as well.
